| Well, since I haven't had time to update, entirely too many events have passed for me to type them all out. So, I will talk about tonight and let you get ahold of me if you need to know what's been happening in my life. Tonight Jeff and I went to dinner and a movie, and it was pretty awesome. He took me to Kyoto, and that was very cool...it's a Japanese restaurant where they cook the food in front of you...yeah, amazing! I had filet, and fried rice, and egg drop soup, and sushi. Yes, I did eat way too much. heh After dinner we headed to his house to waste some time before the movie. It was pretty entertaining because Andrew was hanging glow in the dark spider webs from the garage ceiling for their party next weekend, and he was very adamant about us telling him whether it was neat or gay...I was cracking up. After that we left for The Prestige. It was really good, just like I knew it would be. How could it be bad with Christian Bale and Michael Caine? And Scarlett Johannsen and Hugh Jackman and Piper Perabo...okay, I'm done. Yeah, so that was a lot of fun. I got sick, which wasn't so fun, but thankfully I was there with someone that took good care of me! Anyway, that's all I have for now. I suppose I will update again someday! TaTa | | |
| Hello all...I s'pose I should update. School is going well. I like most of my classes. Waitressing lab gets better each week, accounting is so incredibly simple, Hospitality Information Technology is pretty much amazing since I know what to do and then have a computer in front of me to play on for the rest of the class, and Speakers Series is simple too. The only class I don't love and might struggle in is Intro to Film. But I at least have Shanetha and Lauren in there with me to keep me entertained! OSU dominated in our first football game. I am pretty much thrilled about that one. Of course, we probably got cocky and will have a terrible game next weekend because of it, but at least we have one great win on our record!! hah Weekends here have pretty much become my favorite, and it's only going to get better when SUAB events really get going. If anyone has a free weekend and wants to come visit, I suggest you do so because it is pretty much amazing!! I used to want to go home as much as I could, but now, for several reasons, I love staying here...working events, getting to spend more time with John, watching movies, being lazy...I am in heaven! haha I think the first weekend I am coming home is October 7th because that's Fall Break! w00t So yeah, I guess that's all for this paragraph...lol Apparently I am going snowboarding over Thanksgiving. yeah. Not too thrilled, because I'm really not in the mood to get injured, but I suppose it could be okay. I'll just take homework and sit by a fire and enjoy seeing real snow for once. For all Ellen fans: I was walking to class and this girl in front of me had on these ridiculously high heels, and she tripped over them...and as soon as she tripped she like stopped and looked back at the ground where she tripped, and I about lost it. It was exactly like the "Pebble, there's a pebble...watch out I just tripped over a pebble" scene. I had to get out from behind her because it looked like I was laughing because she tripped. I really wasn't! It was just so dang funny that she looked back. Ooo, speaking of tripping...when I was waitressing yesterday I tripped over our piano bench and almost dropped my tray and knocked over the bench and everything...it was quite humorous. I have a huge bruise on my knee from it. I am pretty proud of not dropping the tray! haha So yeah, that was fun. Okay, that's all. Maybe I'll start updating with more exciting stories starting tomorrow...but probably not. TaTa | | |
| So updating this has become like the most daunting thing ever. Brief overview of life after my last post:
John jumped out of an airplane...scared the crap outta me, but I still think it's pretty awesome. Don't tell him I said that. He had a nifty necklace made for me that has the pin on it...you know, I dunno how to explain it, but it saved his life by deploying his parachute and it's around my neck. No, it's not the rip cord. I'm glad he came back alive and unhurt. I guess I'll get a little more used to it every time he does it...
I went to the SUAB retreat reluctantly and had an amazing time. These people are pretty much awesome and I can't wait to start getting into the events of the year with them. Swimming was definitely the most fun...which is odd because I usually hate to swim. Don't ever play the Game of Life, or Win All You Can...or whatever it's called. It's a trick...just don't do it. We all got pretty delirious at the meeting afterward, so that was entertaining as well. As was Jeff and Marty's...scene...hah
Moving into my room went well. Dad helped, and on the way a poster of mine blew out of his window, so we hiked along the highway to find it, and that was about hilarious. Setting up was fun too...I love my room, and the whole suite, and my suite mates. Mandy, our original 4th suite mate, didn't show up, so now we have an empty room...if anyone needs a place to crash in Stillwater, give me a call! The common area is pretty much amazing...it is decorated Pirates style, mostly Johnny Depp, including a 6 foot standup of him. Yeah, we're just that cool. There are pictures of my room on facebook if you're interested.
I tried to buy a car last weekend. It didn't work. We drove to El Reno to get the car, and then got screwed over by the scum of the earth asshole car salesman when we got there, so we just left...with no new car. Then driving back to Stillwater I got pulled over because of my one headlight. The only time I've been on the highway in the dark since my incident, and it's only because I was SUPPOSED to have a new car, and I get pulled over. I hate cops...no, really.
It's been an interesting first week. I got soaked on the way to class on the first day. I was doing good until the car drove by and splashed me comedy movie style. All I could do was laugh. Everything in my bag got wet though, I had to buy all new stuff. Oh well, it was pretty comical. Okay, overview of classes and then I am done with boring you to death...
Managerial Accounting - MWF 9:30-10:20 This seems pretty simple, very similar to financial accounting from last semester. The professor is foreign though, which pretty much sucks. I have to contract the class to make it honors, which means another big project to worry about. But I do like accounting, and the premise of the class is more interesting than financial accounting, so I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
Intro to Film - MWF 10:30-11:20 Okay, so much for my blow off class. The only thing blow off about this is there are no tests, only quizzes, until the final. But analyzing the movies is going to kill me...I could do it with random poems and literature senior year, but I can't with film for some reason. I have to contract this one too. The upside: our professor looks like Clark Kent and says "uh" enough to keep me entertained through the whole class.
Hospitality Information Systems - MW 4:00-5:15 I spent half an hour formatting a word document, and the rest of the time e-mailing people. Blow off class. Enough said.
Service Management - TR 9:00-10:15 LAB T 10:30-2:20 I am a waitress. Yes, you read that correctly. My job in this class and lab is to wait tables at an on campus restaurant and not screw up. I also lose a letter grade every time I miss lab. So I hate this class. -9 out of 5 stars. The people are nice though...and funny.
Hospitality Speakers Series - R 3:30-4:45 I sit and listen to people talk, take notes on what they say, dress business casual to every class, and send one person a thank you letter. If I miss a class I get a C, if my phone rings I get a B, and if I take 3 notes and pretend to listen, I get a professor to write me a recommendation letter. Yes, this class is okay with me.
Okay, that's all for now. This weekend I am working some SUAB events and going to a party Saturday night at Jeff's house. John's coming up so that's pretty much amazing, and I will update again someday. TaTa
| Wow, it's been a while. But as previously stated, I will in fact update about Dallas and other events.
I put in my 2 weeks at work before I went to Dallas and then found out that I needed the Thursday before I left off too, so I pretty much just quit early. But Katrina asked me to back date my 2 weeks notice so that I was re-hireable next summer. lol That kinda cracks me up that they think they'll need me back next summer. But maybe they will, and that's kinda sad. I had a great time while it lasted...made lots of money and lots of friends, and got several hours and some good career and life experience. I have decided I am thrilled that I didn't take the Crescent Hotel job offer in Eureka Springs and stuck around here in T-Town.
The dentist was amazing! I didn't pass out when I got the shot!!!! That has been a problem for several years and then all the sudden it just didn't happen! I was just about ecstatic. Is that weird?
John took me to a concert Thursday night, the night before I left for Dallas. I had a fantastic time! We ate at Bricktown Brewery, and walked to the concert from there...we saw Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. Now, these tickets weren't originally for me, and I am not a huge country music fan, but I was exited to go even so because it meant I would get to spend more time with John before I left on my trip. But, my goodness, Tim McGraw is not the best in concert. I think I listened to more drunk people sing into his mic than I have ever heard in my whole life...even at a Fair concert or something! lol But he was still fun to listen to and watch. Faith Hill was amazing! I like a lot of her songs, and then there were a few I had never heard that I really fell in love with. And she was a great performer all around...I just really enjoyed her segment of the concert! And the songs that they sang together were really fun too! I had a good time...regardless of what John thinks...hah. On the way back we had some fun with his camera, and it was a pretty entertaining drive all around. I'm really glad I ditched work to go! haha
Okay, now for Dallas!!! eeeeee!! lol I was supposed to leave Tulsa at like 10, but since John kept me out late, I ended up like sleeping until 10...lol So I got up and got all ready and then finished packing, said bye to John, went to the bank, to get gas, and to get food, and finally got on my way at about 11:30...heh The drive went well. I took my moms car since mine is in such bad shape, so that was pretty nice. I got to Durant at about 2:30ish, where I met Shanetha and Bryan at Shanetha's house, and we left almost right away for the hotel! We got there about 4:45, rested and stuff, got food at a McDonald's within walking distance, and then headed to the Rangers game! It was great, except the Rangers lost...okay, they were annihilated...but I got a cool jersey! haha And I got a fun drink...thanks Bryan. All I have to say is I think I slept better than all of y'all that night. lol We met Meredith at the game and that was fun too...she brought us water and snacks...she's such a mom! haha After the game we tried to take a picture...and that didn't work...but it was fun trying! haha Saturday we got some free breakfast at our cheap and amazing hotel, then left for Six Flags. Parking sucked, but it was amazingly fun! We got something called a Flash Pass to get to the front of all the lines so we wouldn't be waiting in lines til the park closed...it was $20 a person, but since we got our tickets free we splurged. And man, that thing makes a huge difference! We got right on most of the rides there! We rode Texas Giant, a classic, then The Titan, and I seriously loved the drop, but almost blacked out on both spirals...and I am not even kidding you. It was fun though! We also did Batman, but Mr. Freeze was closed, so that was pretty sad. Bumper Cars was about hilarious...we waited the longest for that, and it was the shortest ride, but we got to watch Ellen in line, and I have a battle wound from slamming the crap outta Bryan's car...haha I think it's safe to say that everyone had the most fun on the Spongebob 4-D Adventure ride though! haha Those were some drugged up designers, I kid you not. We also did an indoor rollercoaster thing that's in the dark, and I met a guy that has the same motto as me..."if we were in Disney World..." haha That was about amazing. We also rode Flashback and some other crazy roller coaster, but the best ride of all, in my opinion, was Superman. That ride is freaking amazing! I could have seriously rode that like 50 times! Ah, I loved it! Anyway, after that we were all tired, so we headed back to the hotel, showered, and went to see Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. It was Shanetha's 3rd time, my 2nd, and Meredith's 1st...I'm not sure if Bryan had seen it or not. But it was amazing, of course! Bryan bought all of our tickets which was very nice of him. He just wants to be able to say he took 3 girls out on a date at once...hah Sunday we went to the zoo, which was fun...I actually like the Tulsa zoo better than the Ft Worth Zoo...I thought that was pretty crazy. After that we headed to Frisco for a minor league baseball game. We got there a little early, so we shopped for a bit...mostly in Barnes and Noble. Are we dorks? Are we proud of it? I think we are...haha At about 6 we headed to the game, which was very very fun, and then back to Durant where we all spent the night. I had lunch with Shanetha and her mom and the infamous Scottie at noon on Monday, and then headed back to Tulsa after that. All in all it was a fabulous trip, went off without a hitch, and I can't wait to plan another one! We can go to Atlanta for a Braves game, or St. Louis for a Cards game! That would be entertaining. Oooo! We could go to Disney World! (Yes Shanetha, that's a joke...I can hear you cringing from here...lol) Maybe next time everyone won't flake out...heh
Since Dallas I have really just been hanging out, relaxing, not doing much. John left today for a wedding and then skydiving in Colorado...please pray for him, Corey, Chelsey and Ali...they're all jumping out of an airplane...but pray hardest for the 2 big morons that aren't jumping tandem...yeah, that would be John and Corey...jumping out on their own. bahhhhhh...he says my trip made him nervous...well I didn't fall from the sky with a pice of cloth to save me, did I? Okay, I am over it...I promised myself I wouldn't be one of those nagging over-protective girls. So anyway, he gets back the 6th, I head to Stillwater the 11th, school, starts the 21st...and this summer has been fabulous!
I guess that's about it for my update. I love you and can't wait to see you when you get back! TaTa
| I suppose I should update since there's actually 2 people that now check this thing.
Not all that much has happened since my last post. I still work a lot, and I sleep as much as I can, and I spend the rest of the time I have with John, Rachel, and whoever else feels the desire to join us. My birthday was the 28th and it was great. We went to Superman at ten on the 27th, Shanetha texted me at exactly midnight to wish me a happy birthday, and then there was a limo waiting outside the theater to take John, Rachel, Corey, and me around for about an hour and a half. It was pretty fun...we're some wild and crazy kids. When I woke up the next morning (maybe afternoon...) there was a Dead Man's Chest poster from John leaning against my dresser, and it was awesome! Then John came over and brought me some beautiful flowers, we met Corey at Elephant Bar for lunch, we went to visit Rachel at Gap, and then we went car shopping for a while...and that was about like it always is...pointless. I do think I am getting a Caliber though, so we'll see how this one goes. Rachel came over a little later and brought me a nifty OSU Throw and a Belle coffee mug, both of which I love! Then John and Rachel hung out while I opened family presents. Major highlights: Mel Brooks Collection on DVD, 60's vintage polyester dress, Pirates of the Caribbean DVD Treasure Hunt Board Game, clothes from Gap, and charms for my bracelet! I also got a Border's gift card to go buy The Grimmerie with!! I am now up to 5 in my coffee table book collection! w00t I went to the Bistro with my family for dinner and then came home and watched Robin Hood Men in Tights with John. He had a few more surprises for me, one of which was a beautiful charm for my bracelet...along with something else I will treasure for the rest of my life. So all in all a great birthday. OH MAN, I almost forgot. Shanetha and Lauren both called on my birthday and that just about made me jump for joy! haha I can't wait to see them again!
Other than that there's really only been one other exciting thing, and that was PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 2: DEAD MANS CHEST!!!!!! It was fabulously amazingly unbelievably perfect!!! John and I ran errands all day and then went to dinner with Phil and Rachel at about 6:30 or 7, and then we got in line right after that. Andrea joined us later, and we had a fabulous time! It was a grrrrreat movie. And after the movie was pretty cool too...lol eeeeee, I can't wait to see it again and again! Ooo, and I can't wait to watch it with Shanetha! lol
Friday night I went to Nordaggio's to see Stephen Speaks, and that was pretty fun. We saw Zach there and he was absolutely hilarious, so that was amazing. I had a pretty good time. Last night I went to Frog and Toad with John, Rachel, and Andrea, and that was pretty cool. Got to see Kris and Mike, Mr. Call and Kathy, Mr. Plum, and a few other nifty people. After the show I just hung out at John's for a while and that was good. Today I worked 7 to 3, did some laundry, helped make dinner for Mom, had some wine...lol...cleaned up, and then sat around. It wasnt the best day ever, but oh well. They can't all be good.
Upcoming events: filling at the dentist tomorrow morning, work, Dallas in 3 weeks!!!!!, maybe another trip on the horizon, more Maid of Honor duties, and several other things that I don't know about yet. lol So there's the update for a while...probably until Dallas. So enjoy. TaTa!
